I've removed the link so they don't get any further free publicity.

In its place, I've popped a link to Tales of the Decongested, a short story event and book that my fiction tutor began some years back. I haven't been to an event, but as she's my tutor, I think it would be rude not to attend the next one at the end of October. Any Londonites wanting to come along, it's at Foyles Bookshop, Charing Cross Road. Nearest tube: Tottenham Court Road. Tickets are £3. More details at Tales Of The Decongested.

Pop along to the site if you get a chance. I'm hoping that, one day, I might be reading a piece there, perhaps even making it on to the site with my work.

I've used two pieces from this blog as my first submissions to the class. They've been slightly reworked, but if anyone is interested and hasn't read them they are Awaiting The Return and Lights, Camera, Action.

Next chapter coming soon.

purplesimon out...purplesimehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03771575082601101197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9113895.post-1160097447648067442006-10-06T02:17:00.000+01:002006-10-06T02:17:00.000+01:00Hi Simon,Came to read....but wanted to tell you, t...Hi Simon,

Came to read....but wanted to tell you, that someone has hijacked THE BOY WHO HEARD MUSIC.....

How are you??
Busy, I see.

Now, back to the story.....xolryicsgrlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01786349321068281627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9113895.post-1160030398347433492006-10-05T07:39:00.000+01:002006-10-05T07:39:00.000+01:00Hi Simon,Sorry I haven't been here in a while, I'v...Hi Simon,
Sorry I haven't been here in a while, I've been busy with classes. But here I am.

Here's my tuppence worth:

"Something wasn't quite right, was off-kilter"

This didn't seem to flow for me. How about "Something wasn't quite right, off-kilter" or simply, "Something wasn't quite right."

Otherwise, in my mind, this story is starting to have an otherworldly feel to it. I think it's working really well and it's tense throughout.

How is the course going?Tamaraihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06588239325265301779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9113895.post-1159476724938411182006-09-28T21:52:00.000+01:002006-09-28T21:52:00.000+01:00Simon, you're crazy. Most of this...I have to admit this is a bit rushed. Most of this story has been sat on my desktop for ages and I thought this morning, after ginab's comment, that I should try to finish it before I leave to drive to my next copy writing assignment.

Anyway, suffice to say there is probably loads wrong with this and although I've spellchecked it, I would expect to find many an error.

For this I apologise upfront so as not to cause anyone to be affronted.

This story won't last much longer as I want to start something fresh for my course - countdown to 4 October. So, expect things to move along swiftly after this one.

That's enough from me.

purplesimon out...purplesimehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03771575082601101197noreply@blogger.com
